Privacy Policy

Effective 18 August 2026

This policy explains what personal data Jeevigo ("we", "us") collects when you use jeevigo.com or message us on WhatsApp, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than boilerplate.

1. Who is responsible for your data

Jeevigo is the data fiduciary for the personal data described here, under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made under it.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

  • Your name and phone number when you contact us, message us on WhatsApp, or ask to be connected to a provider.
  • What you are looking for — for example the area, budget, room type, gender preference, move-in timing, or the kind of food or vehicle you need.
  • The content of your WhatsApp messages to us, including anything you volunteer in them.
  • Business details if you list a PG, mess, rental or other service — contact person, phone, address, prices and photographs.

Information collected automatically

  • Standard analytics about your visit — pages viewed, approximate location at city level, device and browser type, and how you reached the site. See our Cookie Policy.
  • Technical logs such as IP address and timestamps, kept for security and troubleshooting.

We do not collect payment card details, bank details, government identity numbers, or precise GPS location. We do not ask for your Aadhaar. If a provider asks you for identity documents, that is between you and them — do not send them to us.

3. Why we use it

  • To understand what you are looking for and send you matching PGs, tiffin services or rentals.
  • To connect you with a provider, which means sharing your first name and phone number with that provider so they can respond.
  • To reply to your questions and provide support.
  • To verify listings, prevent fraud and misuse, and keep the platform safe.
  • To understand in aggregate which areas and services people are looking for, so we can improve what we list.
  • To meet legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not run third-party advertising networks on Jeevigo.

4. Who we share it with

  • Providers you ask to be connected to. We share the minimum needed for them to reply — typically your name and phone number, and what you are looking for. They may then contact you directly. Once shared, that provider is responsible for how they handle it.
  • Meta Platforms, which operates the WhatsApp Business service we use to message you. WhatsApp messages are handled under Meta's own terms and privacy policy.
  • Cloudflare, which hosts the site and the database where enquiries are stored.
  • Google Analytics, for aggregate website usage statistics.
  • Authorities, where we are required to disclose information by law or valid legal process.

5. Where your data is stored

Enquiries and conversation records are stored on Cloudflare infrastructure, which may process data on servers outside India. Where data is transferred outside India, we rely on the service provider's contractual safeguards and transfer only what is necessary.

6. How long we keep it

  • Enquiries and conversation records — kept while we are helping you and for a reasonable period afterwards, so we can pick up where we left off if you come back. We review and delete stale records periodically.
  • Provider listing information — kept while the listing is active and for a reasonable period after it is withdrawn.
  • Analytics — retained according to the settings of our analytics provider.

You can ask us to delete your data sooner — see below.

7. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may:

  • ask what personal data of yours we hold and how we use it;
  • ask us to correct or complete inaccurate data;
  • ask us to erase your data, where we are not required to keep it;
  • withdraw consent at any time;
  • nominate someone to exercise these rights if you cannot;
  • raise a grievance — see our Grievance Redressal policy.

To exercise any of these, email contact@jeevigo.com from the address or phone number you contacted us with, or WhatsApp us on +91 81220 71014. We will respond within a reasonable period and will ask you to verify your identity first.

To stop receiving WhatsApp messages from us, reply STOP to any message, or tell us and we will remove you.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls on our systems, and limiting who on the team can see enquiry records. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your data, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as required by law.

9. Children

Jeevigo is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. Where a change is significant, we will make it prominent on the site.
